Report: Why Kenny Omega Missed Jay Briscoe Tribute On AEW Dynamite Revealed

Why Kenny Omega is currently away from AEW TV

Following his passing on January 17, All Elite Wrestling paid tribute to Jay Briscoe on the January 25 edition of Dynamite, with Mark Briscoe taking on Jay Lethal in a match to celebrate Briscoe's life before the entire AEW locker room emptied onto the stage as Dynamite went off the air.

The likes of The Young Bucks, Tony Khan, BJ Whitmer, and Christopher Daniels could be seen on the stage but one AEW talent absent from the proceedings was Kenny Omega.

The Best Bout Machine hasn't appeared on AEW programming since he and The Young Bucks regained the AEW World Trios Titles in match seven of their Best of Seven series with Death Triangle on the January 11 edition of Dynamite.

According to Fightful Select, Omega was absent from the January 18 and January 25 shows because the IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion is currently dealing with visa issues. Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the hope is Omega will be back for next week's Dynamite but that isn't locked in.

It was previously noted following the end of the Best of Seven series that visa issues almost stopped the final match from happening
