Report: Why Pat McAfee Missed WWE Raw

Reason Pat McAfee wasn't on WWE Raw revealed

Pat McAfee was absent from the June 24 episode of Monday Night Raw, even though the show emanated from Indianapolis, Indiana, a city that McAfee is closely associated with as he spent his NFL career playing for the Indianapolis Colts.

It appeared that McAfee missed Raw as part of a storyline due to the Pat McAfee Show being invaded by Wyatt Sicks last week but Wade Keller of PWTorch has reported that McAfee was actually absent from Raw because of a "legitimate last-second family emergency."

McAfee appeared to be written into the original plans for Raw as the VHS tape that Nikki Cross handed to Michael Cole was actually addressed to his co-commentator. Keller has speculated that McAfee's unexpected absence from Raw could be turned into a storyline with Wyatt Sicks as a possible explanation for why he missed Raw.

McAfee has been back full-time on Monday Night Raw since January 2024 as the colour commentator alongside Michael Cole on play-by-play. The two commentators previously worked together on Friday Night SmackDown from April 2021 until September 2022 when McAfee stepped away to become a pundit on ESPN's College GameDay.
