On the July 13 episode of Monday Night Raw, Shayna Baszler returned to WWE TV after almost two months away. She quickly proved her dominance as she vanquished three of Akira Tozawa's ninjas and went on to put the Raw women's division on notice.

Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE brought The Queen Of Spades back to Raw as the backup for the Kairi Sane injury angle. The company originally planned to write The Pirate Princess off TV at yesterday's tapings via a career-ending injury before she returns to Japan to be with her husband.

Whether or not WWE goes ahead with the angle remains to be seen, but Meltzer noted the wrestling behemoth initially booked Natalya to injure Sane and Baszler was brought back just in case the former SmackDown Women's Champion couldn't attend TV tapings.

Meltzer said: "This was still the idea as of yesterday was for Kairi Sane to be injured and the person to injure her, which from TV tonight looks to be Shayna Baszler. Baszler was brought back as a backup to injure Kairi, and it looks like she's going to be the backup because Natalya was originally scripted in that role but she's been kept off… But Shayna's been put in that spot. I don't know that it's Asuka and Shayna at SummerSlam. At one point it was… But yeah, things just constantly changing right now."
