Report: Why Sheamus Didn't Wrestle During WWE's European Tour Revealed

Why did Sheamus miss some action on the latest European tour?

WWE star Sheamus performed during the company's latest European tour, but notably missed a couple of the shows.

The Celtic Warrior wrestled on the first two nights in Newcastle and London (losing to Shinsuke Nakamura and Bobby Lashley, respectively), but didn't compete in Paris or Leipzig.

His absence on these shows led some fans to suspect that he might have suffered an injury.

According to a report from PWInsider, however, this is not the case. The site were told that a specific decision was made to give Butch more ring time and that Sheamus is not injured.

Butch wrestled on all four shows during the tour, challenging Ricochet for the Intercontinental Title. In Paris and Leipzig, Sami Zayn was added to make it a triple-threat bout.

Prior to those matches, Butch had only wrestled twice since he moved to the main roster, losing to Xavier Woods on both occasions.

Sheamus and Butch have been together on WWE TV with Ridge Holland since the former Pete Dunne moved to SmackDown and they have spent much of their time on the blue brand feuding with The New Day. Sheamus and Holland even picked up a win over Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods at WrestleMania 38.
