The June 24 episode of AEW Dynamite, the final episode of Dynamite before Sunday's Forbidden Door pay-per-view, looks set to be a loaded show as eight matches have been announced for the live taping from Rio Rancho, New Mexico.

This differs from AEW Dynamite in 2026, which primarily features between four and six matches across the two-hour programme that airs on TBS and HBO Max in the United States.

The reason for the increase in matches for June 24, according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, is due to the World Cup airing against AEW Dynamite, as well as simply continuing to build towards AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.

"One of the reasons it is so loaded is because Tony Khan is a soccer guy. He is well aware of the World Cup and he's trying to put on a hell of a show going against World Cup soccer, and that is part of it. And again, building this pay-per-view for Sunday," Meltzer said.

In addition to his AEW and Jacksonville Jaguars duties, Tony Khan is the vice-chairman and director of football of Fulham FC, the Premier League side. Tony Khan has worked on Fulham transfers while backstage at AEW Dynamite, and there was a story on the June 15 episode of Football Cliches sent in by AEW commentator Excalibur that he had been informed of Fulham's talks with Alvaro Arbeloa over becoming the football club's new manager.

The World Cup matches going head-to-head with AEW Dynamite are the final Group A matches in South Africa vs. South Korea and Mexico vs. Czech Republic.
