Report: William Regal Seemingly Leaving AEW

William Regal seemingly departing AEW

William Regal is seemingly on his way out of All Elite Wrestling.

Regal's future has been the source of much speculation since the Full Gear pay-per-view on Saturday, November 26, and Meltzer hinted the former NXT General Manager was departing AEW while discussing the segment between Regal and MJF on Dynamite.

"When it was all over, I was just like 'What was the purpose of this?' Put so much heat on a guy who is leaving. Moxley gets no revenge at all. MJF is turning heel on a guy who is a heel so the fans are so mixed up, and great we've got a new belt," Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio

Regal was seemingly written off AEW TV on Dynamite, with MJF attacking him from behind after Friedman unveiled his custom AEW World Championship. Regal was shown being taken away in an ambulance with Bryan Danielson at his side following the attack.

How Regal can leave AEW is unknown since he reportedly signed a three-year deal with the promotion earlier this year. It is possible he has a get-out clause in the contract or signed a one-year deal with a two-year option.
