Report: William Regal Set To Be At WWE SmackDown

William Regal reportedly due to be at WWE SmackDown

Reports this week stated that William Regal had returned to WWE after his AEW exit in late 2022, reportedly taking up a Vice Presidency position in the company.

Now, a new report from PWInsider states the former NXT GM will be backstage at tonight’s edition of WWE SmackDown, airing live from Memphis, TN.

Regal formerly worked as the Director of Talent Development and Head of Global Recruiting for WWE as well as maintaining a role as the on-air GM Of NXT during his last WWE spell, being released from the company in January 2022, having been part of WWE since 2000.

After his WWE release, Regal made his way to AEW at Revolution 2022, forming the Blackpool Combat Club with Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley, later adding Wheeler Yuta and Claudio Castagnoli to its ranks. After a short run in AEW, Regal officially departed the company in December 2022 to return to WWE, with Regal's ties to Triple H as well as his son Charlie Dempsey being part of NXT key to his return.
