Report: WWE 2K22 To Include Microtransactions

Virtual currency will be available

The next WWE video game is set to include a controversial feature.

YouTuber VikingSizeGamer noted today that it appears WWE 2K22 will include microtransactions, with purchasable currency up to 450,000 VC available.

"A WWE 2K CDN hosted by 2KSports is publicly accessible and shows illustrations and 3D renders for VC in a folder labelled 2K22/Store. Purchases in #WWE2K22 look like they're heading the NBA route with VC available in bulk up to 450,000, roughly worth $100. More in a video soon," they tweeted.

Another of 2K's video games in NBA 2K22 has received criticism since its release in September for the heavy presence of microtransactions within the title.

2K's next WWE video game is set to be released in March 2022, ahead of WrestleMania 38. The next title will reportedly feature the return of GM Mode and a full gameplay reveal for the latest title will take place in January.

2K has been WWE's exclusive partner on console video games since WWE 2K14 was released in 2013.
