Report: WWE & LA Knight Far Apart On Money In Contract Talks

Negotiations are not close to ending between WWE and LA Knight, regarding the Superstar's contract extension.

It was recently reported that LA Knight and WWE were close to agreeing a new five-year contract for the Superstar, but according to Fightful Select, the two sides may actually be further apart than initially thought.

Fightful report that while it's true that Knight and WWE have been engaged in talks of a contract extension, both sides are far apart in terms of a number. No deal is said to have been agreed to, nor is it thought to be imminently agreed upon, but negotiations are set to continue indefinitely.

A source described as a WWE higher-up told Fightful that there is no connection between this proposed contract extension and Knight's recent push on TV, citing several Superstars who have deals coming up next year but whose pushes have remained unaffected.

LA Knight's current WWE deal is not one expiring next year. It is thought to run well into 2025, and is thought to have over a year and a half left on it.

Knight competed at the recent Payback premium live event, defeating The Miz in a match which featured John Cena as the special guest referee. Despite tension between Knight and Cena during the match, the pair engaged in a show of respect after the bell.
