Report: WWE Believe Cody Rhodes Vs. Seth Rollins Is On For WrestleMania 38

Seth Rollins vs. Cody Rhodes on for WWE WrestleMania it seems

Eight years on from the last time they stepped in the squared circle together, Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins are seemingly set to face off at WrestleMania 38.

Rhodes has been a free agent since he departed All Elite Wrestling in mid-February and he initially looked set to re-sign with WWE but his return became increasingly uncertain in recent weeks with negotiations having reportedly "hit a snag."

Any issues appear to have been resolved, though, as an AEW Executive Vice President believes Cody has re-signed with WWE and Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE are under the impression Rhodes will go one on one with Rollins at WrestleMania.

"Everyone there is. The impression is that Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins is the WrestleMania match...He's coming. I mean that's it. He's wrestling Seth at WrestleMania unless something changes and I sure watched this (Raw) not thinking anything is changing," Meltzer said.

How WWE will re-debut Cody is unclear but Meltzer speculated they could have him return in a similar way to The Hardy Boyz at WrestleMania 33 where he appears just before his match at the pay-per-view.

Past reports have noted WWE originally planned to have Rhodes return with a major match against Rollins at 'Mania. While those plans initially looked to be off, the company referenced Cody just before last night's episode of Monday Night Raw went off the air following Rollins' loss to Kevin Owens.
