Report: WWE Bringing Back Old WCW Event?

Could another old WCW event name be brought back under the WWE banner?

According to a report by PWInsider Elite, WWE could be bringing back an old WCW event.

WWE recently filed a trademark for the name 'Uncensored', also the name of a WCW event which took place annually from 1995 to 2000. Initially, the idea behind Uncensored was that the event was unsanctioned by the kayfabe WCW board of directors, leading to matches that weren't restricted by the usual rules of a wrestling match. However, this gimmick was played down in later years.

WWE have revived several WCW show names in the past, including The Great American Bash, Halloween Havoc and Starrcade. The main event of the first Uncensored saw Hulk Hogan defeat Vader in a leather strap match, while the last show's main event saw the now infamous 'Yappapi strap match' - which again featured a Hogan victory, this time over Ric Flair.

The Uncensored shows in 1998 and 1999 were promoted as co-branded WCW and nWo events, in fitting with the storyline conflict raging within the promotion at the time.
