Report: WWE Championship Title Getting A New Name?

NXT title picture getting shaken up a little...

A report from PWInsider suggests an active WWE title could be on the brink of getting a new name.

WALTER's WWE United Kingdom Championship is the title in question, with the report stating that there has been talk it will be renamed the NXT UK Championship.

For the avoidance of any doubt here's what the report from PWInsider states: "There's been a lot of talk of late that the WWE UK Championship, currently held by WALTER, will be rechristened the NXT UK Championship to bring it in line with all the other NXT UK title belts."

This is a logical step given we only see - Survivor Series 2019 season aside, of course - the United Kingdom Championship on NXT events.

WALTER's title has been seen on a couple of the black and gold TakeOver events - notably when Pete Dunne defeated Tyler Bate in Chicago back in 2017 and when the big Austrian defeated Dunne in New York last year. Mostly, however, the title is reserved for appearances on NXT UK.

Imperium's WALTER retained his title against Joe Coffey in the main event of NXT TakeOver: Blackpool II last Sunday.
