There is concern within WWE ahead of Friday's episode of SmackDown.

The show is set to emanate from Winnipeg, Canada, but numerous WWE personnel and wrestlers reside in Florida and the state is bracing for severe disruption from Hurricane Ian. With so many talent living in the affected area, WWE are anxious about SmackDown, according to Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer.

"With all the wrestlers and people in wrestling who live in Florida, best of luck this week. Tony Khan noted that those threatened by hurricane can stay home. WWE said to be concerned regarding Friday with so much talent living in that area," Meltzer tweeted.

AEW President Tony Khan had already announced that talent affected by Hurricane Ian did not have to attend Wednesday's TV tapings.

Hurricane Ian, a category three storm with winds up to 120 mph according to BBC News, has already devastated Cuba and the hurricane is expected to intensify before making landfall in Florida later on Wednesday. More than 2.5 million people in Western Florida, particularly the Tampa area, have started to evacuate and tropical-storm winds have already begun to hit Florida.
