Report: WWE Considered Putting NXT Women's Tag Team Titles On Ivy Nile & Tatum Paxley

In a possible spoiler for next week's WWE NXT Women's Tag Team Title match, Dave Meltzer has reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE previously considered putting the belts on Diamond Mine's Ivy Nile and Tatum Paxley.

"I know there had been talk of Nile and Paxley being champions at one point. So maybe this is that point," Meltzer said.

Nile and Paxley will team together in a Fatal 4-Way on NXT against Toxic Attraction's Jacy Jayne and Gigi Dolin, Yulisa Leon and Valentina Feroz, and Katana Chance and Kayden Carter as they clash for the vacant NXT Women's Tag Team Championships.

Cora Jade and Roxanne Perez had previously been champions but Jade turned on her tag team partner on July 12. The new heel then dumped her NXT Women's Tag Team Title belt in a trash can one week later, vacating the championship in the process.

Perez handed her belt back on Tuesday's episode of NXT after Alundra Blayze retrieved Jade's title from the trash and WWE announced new champions would be crowned next week.

Nile and Paxley initially had an antagonistic relationship on WWE's developmental brand, but they have been slightly more united in recent months.
