Report: Edge's WWE Return Scrapped

Edge not looking likely for potential WWE SummerSlam return

Ahead of this weekend’s SummerSlam 2022 ‘premium live event’, plans were for Edge to return to WWE after being written off of TV by The Judgement Day in early June.

The WWE Hall of Famer was scheduled to be at the go-home Raw on July 25 before his travel was cancelled/changed by WWE, and a report from PWInsider suggests that Edge’s SummerSlam return may have been scrapped altogether.

Both Edge and Beth Phoenix were scheduled for the Raw from Madison Square Garden but were seemingly pulled in the wake of Vince McMahon’s retirement, and there’s been no word if their SummerSlam return is still on, or has been shelved for a later date.

WWE had been hyping Edge’s return with a series of ‘mysterious’ vignettes, and it remains to be seen if these will be played in perpetuity until Edge’s eventual return - a la Veer Mahaan - or if WWE will stop airing them altogether.

Edge returned to in-ring competition at the 2020 Royal Rumble after retiring in April 2011.
