Report: WWE Considering Moving NXT To Another Night

The Wednesday Night Wars could have a swift conclusion...

Due to the USA Network's coverage of the NHL Playoffs, the September 2 and September 9 editions of NXT were moved from their usual Wednesday timeslot to Tuesday. WWE branded the two shows as Super Tuesday and last night's episode featured a high profile main event as Johnny Gargano, Adam Cole, Tommaso Ciampa and Finn Balor faced off in a Fatal 4-Way 60-minute Iron Man match for the NXT Championship.

The black and gold brand's move away from Wednesday nights may well become permanent as WrestleVotes reported WWE has held discussions over the past month about moving NXT to a different night. They noted no final decision is expected in the near future, however.

WrestleVotes tweeted: "Over the past month or so, discussions have transpired regarding NXT moving off Wednesday nights. No decision imminent, however, talks are ongoing. The numbers over the next 2 weeks might have some impact on this decision."

NXT has aired on Wednesday nights on the USA Network since September 18, 2019. The show has drawn a loyal fanbase so far but has often struggled in The Wednesday Night Wars against AEW: Dynamite.
