Report: WWE Crowd Chants Unlikely To Be Bleeped Out On Netflix
All the swearing will be heard from the WWE audience
Dec 5, 2024
While WWE Raw won't be transitioning to a TV-14 product when the show moves to Netflix in January 2025, there will be one minor change that will see more cursing be heard during the company's programming.
Crowd chants with curse words have often been bleeped out in recent years and the entire broadcast would even go dark during the final months of SmackDown on FOX. This reportedly won't be an issue on Netflix as Bryan Alvarez noted on Wrestling Observer Live there will be "less bleeping out of crowd chants" on Netflix.
"I don’t know this 100 per cent but I'm probably about 99 per cent sure the one thing you will see different when they go to Netflix is less bleeping out of crowd chants," Alvarez said.
"There was a deal a while ago where there had been some discussion about Raw maybe going to TV-14 or something like that. Of course, it didn't happen but people were all excited. I was told literally the reason they wanted to explore that had nothing to do with any of the content of the show but they hate having to completely bleep and silence the crowd when they chant profanities. I think on Netflix that will end but as far as the rest of it, it's gonna be just like it is right now. There's not gonna be any naked women or whatever you saw back in the '90s."
WWE President Nick Khan confirmed this week that Monday Night Raw will remain a PG product on Netflix. Raw will premiere on Netflix from Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, California on Monday, January 6, 2025.
