Report: WWE Interested In Nick Aldis

WWE are interested in Nick Aldis, according to a new report. Aldis recently finished up his latest run with IMPACT Wrestling and is currently a free agent.

The 36-year-old competed in the main event of IMPACT's Slammiversay pay-per-view this past weekend, where he failed to defeat IMPACT World Champion Alex Shelley. After performing at the set of post-Slammiversay IMPACT TV tapings, Aldis is seemingly clear to sign for whomever he pleases.

PWInsider reported that WWE sources confirmed there was "high interest" in the former NWA World Champion and that he had been discussed internally a potential producer.

Aldis has never worked for WWE before, though he was reportedly told by company officials earlier this year that there was interest in him. However, WWE's sale to Endeavour and subsequent hiring freeze prevented them from making him an offer.

Several within WWE have pushed for the company to sign Aldis, including Wade Barrett. Aldis' wife Mickie James is also believed to be a free agent.
