WWE are in the market for a new Japanese star.

The company have signed multiple featured talents from Japanese promotions over the past several years, including the likes of Shinsuke Nakamura, Io Shirai, Asuka, Hideki Suzuki, Ikemen Jiro, KUSHIDA, Sarray, and Kairi Sane to varying degrees of success with some of them having since exited the company.

WWE seemingly still view Japan as an excellent option for new talent and Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE are looking to sign a big Japanese talent.

While speaking about Konosuke Takeshita, Meltzer stated: "WWE is looking for a big Japanese guy as we speak and this guy's got some size, and he's young, and he's got a good body, and he's a fantastic wrestler. So somebody there may stumble upon him and be interested because he's exactly what they're looking for."

Takeshita has impressed many during his second AEW excursion and the DDT star recently had a classic Ring Of Honor match with Claudio Castagnoli over the ROH World Title at Battle Of The Belts III. Takeshita has also impressed in matches with Jon Moxley and Hangman Page, among others.
