Report: WWE Not Currently Planning King And Queen Of The Ring Tournaments

King & Queen Of The Ring don't seem to be in WWE's plans

Earlier this year, it was announced that WWE would be running King & Queen Of The Ring tournaments with the finals held at a PPV event of the same name in Saudi Arabia. However, in the lead-up to the show, the name of the event was changed to Night Of Champions, and there was no further mention of the tournaments.

A report on Fightful Select has indicated that WWE has no plans as of now regarding King & Queen Of The Ring, but aren’t closing the door on the tournaments happening at some point in the future.

“When we asked if WWE King of the Ring could be rescheduled this year, those in the know said they hadn't heard of that, but that King and Queen of the Ring was mentioned as something in their back pocket for future Saudi shows.”

It isn’t entirely known why WWE changed their plans for the Saudi Arabia show, though some speculation including the introduction of the brand new World Heavyweight Championship, Roman Reigns approaching 1000 days at Undisputed WWE Universal Champion and the return of Vince McMahon in some form to WWE creative and potential factors.
