WWE WrestleMania 39 night one saw triumphant scenes in the main event, with the team of Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens defeating The Usos to win the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships.

The team haven’t wrestled as a unit since mid-July, with Kevin Owens having to take time off to rehab a broken rib. Sami Zayn has also been put on the injured list too, but according to a report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter’s Dave Meltzer, WWE are reportedly not planning on stripping the pair of their titles.

Zayn is currently out of action with a reported case of bursitis or a bursa sac infection, with Zayn’s elbow said to have swollen to the size of ‘a golfball’. WWE’s apparent decision to keep the titles on the pair either indicates that both men aren’t expected to be out of action for an extended period of time, or are still so massively popular with the fans that it’s better for business to keep them as champions.

WWE are currently without their Women’s Tag Team Champions, with Sonya Deville facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines. With the seemingly ‘cursed’ women’s tag titles likely set to be up for grabs again shortly, then it could be that WWE don't want too many titles vacated at once.
