AEW Star 'Almost Cleared' For In-Ring Return

An AEW star looks set to return soon

An All Elite Wrestling star is even closer to an in-ring return.

Thunder Rosa has been out of action with a serious back injury since August 2022, with La Mera Mera later being stripped of the AEW Women's World Championship due to her injury. Initial expectations had Rosa returning before the end of 2022 but she has remained on the shelf.

Thunder Rosa may not be out of the ring for much longer, though, with AEW doctor Michael "Doc" Sampson revealing on Rosa's latest vlog that she is almost cleared, possibly in as little as three weeks. She will work a five-minute mini-match to see how her body holds up while taking bumps again.

"Good news. She's been doing well, we're at week four. She's been religious with her training, as she always has been, but religious with her training, doing everything we've asked her to do. Next week, if I can share, we're going to be in Greensboro, and we're going to do a five-minute mini-match and see how you tolerate that. We're just taking the steps up. If that looks good, we're almost there," Doc Sampson said.

Rosa has remained a part of AEW programming in 2023, serving as a commentator for the promotion's Spanish-language broadcasts.
