Over the past few months, reports have noted that people backstage in WWE view Raw Superstar Brendan Vink and NXT wrestler Cal Bloom as future stars in the company. Vink has been a long-term project within the wrestling behemoth for some time, while Bloom has been compared to a young Edge who has the size, the look and the move-set to be a "big deal."
Another Superstar company officials have their eye on as a future star is NXT's Ridge Holland. The former rugby league player recently competed in a Triple Threat match against Damian Priest and Oney Lorcan on NXT TV, and Bryan Alvarez reported on Wrestling Observer Live that people in WWE think he has the potential to be "the next big thing."
Alvarez said: "We have a North American Title qualifying match. Damian Priest, Oney Lorcan and Ridge Holland. And by the way, I've had a lot of people emailing me about Ridge Holland and it's all been positive. They think this guy has the potential to be the next big thing. That's saying something."
