WWE's upcoming major event in India has been postponed, according to a new report from WrestleVotes.

"I'm told the proposed WWE Live Event in India scheduled for 1/18 has been postponed for unspecified reasons," WrestleVotes tweeted.

While the event had never been officially announced, original plans called for WWE to run a show at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad on January 18, 2023, a week before India's Republic Day. The event was reportedly scheduled to feature mostly SmackDown talent two days before a TV taping in Detroit, Michigan.

WWE haven't held a show in India since a house show in New Delhi on December 9, 2017. That event was headlined by Triple H vs. Jinder Mahal, who had only recently lost the WWE Championship.

The company presented Superstar Spectacle on the Sony Sports Network for Indian Republic Day in January 2021. The special featured several Indian developmental talents along with the likes of Jinder Mahal, Veer, Sanga, Finn Balor, Charlotte Flair, and Drew McIntyre.
