Report: WWE Redesigning 2 Championship Belts
A classic design could be set to change...
Jun 8, 2020
Back at NXT TakeOver: Orlando on April 1, 2017, all of NXT's championship belts were redesigned and issued to the winners after their respective bouts. While the previous NXT Title belt equally displayed "NXT," the new strap emphasised the "X" and included "champion" beneath it.
Raj Giri at WrestlingInc. reported WWE is looking to redesign the NXT Championship again and is currently working on a new design. The belt won't change much, however, as the new look will share a similar design, but the title itself will be bigger in size.
The United States Championship is also set to be redesigned. Giri noted he did not know if the new design had been completed as of yet, but it will likely be released once the company has created replicas to sell online.
Since it's introduction in 2003, the US title has largely remained the same beyond some small modifications. The title was changed slightly after WWE introduced a new logo in 2014, and John Cena received a custom spinner belt when he became a three-time United States Champion. The strap didn't stick around for long, however, as it was destroyed by Orlando Jordan.
