Report: WWE Championship Feud Scrapped Because Of Injury

2 former friends would have battled it out...

Since winning the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 36, Drew McIntyre has been embroiled in a number of feuds. The Scottish Psychopath went to war with Zelina Vega's faction and made quick work of Andrade and Angel Garza, he defeated Seth Rollins at the Money In The Bank pay-per-view, and he is now set to go one on one with Bobby Lashley at Backlash.

Louis Dangoor at WrestleTalk revealed over the weekend that one of McIntyre's future feuds was scrapped recently because of injury. The WWE Champion was set to feud with his former 3MB teammate Jinder Mahal, but The Modern Day Maharaja recently revealed he suffered a knee injury and will be out of action for an indefinite period.

Dangoor also noted the rivalry wasn't scheduled to be very long, but Mahal would have received a "significant push" before he faced off against The Scottish Terminator.

McIntyre will instead have to make do with The All Mighty for the time being. Reports noted their WWE Championship feud could last until Extreme Rules, but Lashley is currently scheduled to have a run with a title in the near future.
