Report: WWE Retaped NXT EVOLVE Content

Will the project ever make it on the air?

WWE continues to work on a second NXT show behind the scenes.

The company has reportedly been planning a new show for the black and gold brand since 2019 and the new programming went through several iterations before WWE settled on 'NXT EVOLVE'. The prospective new series will be an 'NXT for NXT' and Gabe Sapolsky and Jeremy Borash are both heavily involved with the project.

A title belt and graphics have also already been put together with NXT EVOLVE branding and WWE taped content for the show back in February.

That content needed to be retaped, though, according to a report from Fightful. The footage captured was said to be "pretty dark" and wrestlers in action at the tapings performed in relative silence. WWE retaped the show in the first week of May and Rinku Singh and Tino Sabbatelli were both said to be in action at the new tapings.

If the content will ever make it on the air remains to be seen, though. WWE has still not greenlit the second NXT show and it remains in the "proof of concept" stage of production.
