Report: WWE SmackDown Has Been In "A State Of Disarray" In Recent Weeks
Leaving things to the last minute...
Nov 30, 2020
On the November 27 edition of SmackDown, Sami Zayn defeated Daniel Bryan by count-out, Robert Roode & Dolph Ziggler picked up a non-title win over The Street Profits and Kevin Owens established himself as the next challenger for Roman Reigns' Universal Championship.
According to Dave Meltzer, SmackDown was "a mess" backstage because the show was still being written only a few hours before it was set to go on the air. Vince McMahon reportedly arrived at the Amway Center around 12:30 pm and people backstage didn't know "anything" until after the boss came to the arena.
Meltzer provided additional information on Wrestling Observer Radio and noted SmackDown is "always" in "a state of disarray."
Meltzer was told: "Well it's true but every Friday is like this. This is no different from any other Friday. Yes, of course, it's a state of disarray but it's always a state of disarray. It's just that's what Friday is. He shows up when he shows up and they change everything."
