WWE fans aren't the only ones who have become frustrated with Def Rebel, WWE's internal music group that has worked on entrance music and other themes for the company since 2019.

According to Fightful Select, several talents have expressed their unhappiness with the quality of the theme songs produced by Def Rebel, including their own, to the point they have lobbied to get their previous entrance music back. Very few talents that Fightful have heard from are happy with Def Rebel's themes and WWE have even made requests for Def Rebel to change a number of themes after talent vehemently pushed back on using them.

A number of WWE talents have also been frustrated by Def Rebel's themes and how it is difficult to identify a talent by their entrance music. This has been particularly apparent during Royal Rumble matches in 2024 and 2025, with it appearing in 2024 that then-World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins was struggling to work out who was making their Royal Rumble entrance by the theme music, never mind fans.

Def Rebel have long received criticism from WWE fans to the point their theme music became a meme in 2024. It was reported at the time that WWE were "very aware" of the criticism aimed at Def Rebel.

How long Def Rebel will remain WWE's internal music group is unknown. It was reported in September 2024, though, that WWE would not be continuing their partnership with the group whenever Def Rebel's contract expires.
