WWE instituted its latest set of cuts today and Braun Strowman, Murphy, Ruby Riott, Santana Garrett, Aleister Black and Lana have all been released by the company.

Strowman was the most surprising release to many, especially as he had just challenged for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania Backlash. That surprise was not shared by WWE talent, though, according to Fightful Select.

WWE reportedly re-signed Strowman to a "monster deal" back in 2019. The Monster Among Men knew how much he was worth at the time and negotiations with the company went down to the wire. He ultimately signed a multi-year deal worth over $1 million per year.

With his release, Strowman's run in WWE comes to an end after eight years. He joined the company back in 2013 and made his TV debut a couple of years later as the black sheep of the Wyatt Family. He then departed the faction in 2016 and enjoyed success in the company on his own. He leaves WWE as a former Universal Champion, Intercontinental Champion and two-time Raw Tag Team Champion.
