WWE have been breaking gate record after gate record ever since the new regime came into power, with the most recent seeing the 2024 Survivor Series PLE breaking WWE’s all-time arena gate record in North America. A surge in ticket prices, sold out arenas, and a wave of new stars has led to WWE shows making more money than ever before. This has had an unfortunate negative effect on some WWE wrestlers who are hoping to have their families and friends in attendance for events.
As noted by Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE have had to cut back on things like comps and talent getting tickets for family and friends due to the high demand in tickets and due to the increased prices.
Reportedly, WWE wrestlers have been “essentially told that they are millionaires”, so in most cases it is fine for family and friends to come, but not at the number it was previously, and if they wish for more to come to shows then they are expected to pay for it, being that they are wealthy. There is no mention of the response to this from WWE talent.
