Backstage News On WWE's Feelings On Jacob Fatu

Jacob Fatu has been a big focus on Friday Night SmackDown in recent months, taking a step further into the spotlight when Solo Sikoa took a break from WWE programming. Fatu feuded with Braun Strowman, had a notable part to play in the 2025 Royal Rumble match, and has looked to be in contention for several titles. This is due to WWE reportedly remaining to be quite high on Fatu. 

Fightful Select have offered some more insight into WWE’s recent feelings towards The Samoan Werewolf, being said to be “well aware” of his potential. It is noted that everything with Fatu since arriving in WWE has been “carefully crafted”, including his storyline injury, giving up the WWE Tag Team Titles, and various interactions with the likes of Roman Reigns, and more. WWE is aware that fans view Fatu on a higher pedestal than the likes of Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga, using this to build to an eventual clash between Solo Sikoa vs. Jacob Fatu. Other reports have suggested that talks have been in place for this match to take place at WrestleMania 41, though Fightful Select have not been specifically told this. 

It was also said that the previous WWE regime were unwilling to sign Fatu, whereas the new one was happy to pounce when Fatu was available, and see him as a future star for years to come.
