In 2024, WWE headed to Perth, Australia for the Elimination Chamber premium live event, hosting a major show for the first time since Super ShowDown 2018 in the country. After the success of WWE’s trip to Australia in 2024, it has now been revealed that TKO have signed a multi-show deal, and that WWE would be heading back to Western Australia for another PLE over the next year.
The Western Australian on Friday revealed that TKO had signed a deal to bring both UFC and WWE events to Perth, with the deal seeing five events take place over the next 18 months. This includes the previously revealed UFC Fight Night show in Perth later this year, with four new events being revealed.
This deal was made just in time before the local government went into “caretaker-mode”, which put provisions in place to stop the government from entering big deals such as this. For WWE, it is believed that an Australian PLE will take place later this year, in addition to an episode of both Friday Night SmackDown and Monday Night RAW either side. The last show out of the five will be another UFC event. It was noted back in October that WWE were in talks to return to Australia.
