Report: WWE To Continue Using Raw Talents On NXT

More main roster on NXT

Monday Night Raw has had a regular presence on NXT in recent months and vice versa due to AJ Styles' past feud with Grayson Waller and Dolph Ziggler's current involvement in the NXT Championship picture.

A main roster presence on the development brand is set to continue, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, with the idea that Raw Superstars on NXT will help improve the Tuesday night show's ratings. That hasn't been the case so far, though, and NXT's viewership on USA has been largely static since the beginning of the year.

"The strategy that they've had for whatever it's been, several weeks, when they revamped everything, was they wanted more angles on Raw. Grayson Waller-AJ Styles was the first one. They want an angle on Raw at all times on NXT. So this is the second one, and then this one runs its course after April, Ziggler's probably gonna be the guy until the Stand & Deliver show [on WrestleMania weekend] then they'll use another guy," Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio.

"The idea is to always have a main roster guy, preferably from the Raw side, doing an angle on NXT. You do the angle on both Raw and NXT with the idea of that's one of the ways to build up the NXT rating, which thus far hasn't worked."

Ziggler's current run in NXT will continue tonight when The Show Off goes one-on-one with Tommaso Ciampa. The winner will earn a title shot for Bron Breakker's NXT Championship.
