Report: WWE Trying To Sign "Speedball" Mike Bailey

Speedball could be a WWE Superstar soon

One of the biggest names on the European independent wrestling scene could soon be a WWE Superstar.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is working on signing "Speedball" Mike Bailey. The company also seemingly has plans to use the 30-year-old in the United States as they are looking to take care of his visa issues.

Bailey was banned from entering the United States for five years back in 2016 and his travel ban expired earlier this year. He was prohibited from entering the country after he headed to the US to perform at an Evolve show without a work visa. He had been working on getting one through CZW, but it didn't come through in time for the Evolve event.

After the ban took effect, Bailey focussed his attention on the European wrestling scene and Japan, working for the likes of wXw, OTT, RevPro, Defiant Wrestling and DDT. He also continued to wrestle in his native Canada.

Many wondered where Bailey would end up following the end of his travel ban and Speedball told Heel By Nature back in February, "there's a lot of pros to NXT."
