Report: WWE ‘Unbook’ Independent Wrestlers

WWE are said to be limiting the amount of outside talent they use for TV

WWE are limiting the amount of outside performers they are bringing in to work television tapings, and have gone so far as to ‘unbook’ some independent performers.

Per a report from PWInsider, several indie talents supposed to appear as extras have had their bookings cancelled by WWE, with some of the talents told they would no longer be needed as WWE is reducing the amount of extras they use.

The report continued that in some cases, WWE are booking just two extras for some planned segments.

There has been no indication as to why WWE has changed its policy regarding outside talents. It could be assumed that with Raw and SmackDown going on the road again that there is scope for some WWE developmental talent to work these roles and gain experience.

This move could also be seen as an easy cost cutting measure by the WWE, as it attempts to improve its bottom line significantly with the return to live touring.
