While there has yet to be an official announcement about who will induct AJ Styles into the WWE Hall of Fame, the company reportedly wants it to be one of Styles' top rivals during his WWE run.
According to BodySlam, WWE would like John Cena to be the person to induct AJ Styles into the WWE Hall of Fame. Styles' feud with Cena from the summer of 2016 to early 2017 was critically acclaimed and featured widely praised matches at Money in the Bank 2016, SummerSlam 2016, and Royal Rumble 2017.
Styles and Cena then ran it back at Crown Jewel 2025 as part of Cena's retirement tour and they had one of WWE's best matches of the year. This was a change from the original plans of John Cena vs. Drew McIntyre.
AJ Styles was told he would be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the 2026 class during the tribute to Styles on the February 23 episode of Monday Night Raw. Styles was informed of his induction by The Undertaker in what was reportedly a legitimate surprise to the two-time WWE Champion.
Styles and The Undertaker also have a history within WWE as their Boneyard Match at WrestleMania 36 ended up being Undertaker's retirement match.
