Report: WWE WrestleMania To Be Two-Night Event Moving Forward

Mania has been held over two nights since WrestleMania 36 in 2020

Reports have emerged that WWE WrestleMania will be a two-night event going forward.

WWE’s hand was forced in 2020 due to the empty arena era, with WrestleMania 36 held across two nights. Mania 37 followed suit, as will this year’s WrestleMania 38, and Dave Meltzer has speculated that Mania will be two-nights going forward, saying the following on the Sunday Night’s Main Event podcast:

“I think WrestleMania is gonna be a two-night thing going forward. I think this was the first step to see will people buy and they bought in good enough numbers. Did it sell out first day, were the original numbers gigantic? No, but it’s fine. It’s a big stadium. It wasn’t gonna be easy to sell it out two straight days.”

Meltzer continued, “They haven’t announced 2 days for next year but I think it’s better to go for two days. It’s just the nature of what WrestleMania has become. There’s more money to be made and it’s better for the shows…”

“I talked to people there and they certainly gave me the impression that the idea is two days going forward. They always can change their mind based on what happens. I think that they all thought that seven-hour show just doesn’t work. That’s more tiring than the two days.”

WrestleMania 38 will be the first Mania to be opened to full capacity since WrestleMania 35, and the first potential full capacity WrestleMania since the change to two nights.
