Revealed: Reason For WWE Starting Nick Aldis-Adam Pearce Feud On SmackDown

Why are the General Managers already butting heads?

The reason for WWE seemingly starting a feud between Nick Aldis and Adam Pearce has been revealed, per a new report.

Fightful Select noted that the segment between the two General Managers on this past week's episode of SmackDown was intended to be a reference to WWE's plans to run a WarGames match at Survivor Series (which was the plan as of a few weeks ago).

Fightful were working to confirm if that was still the active plan, having recently reported that a men's WarGames match was at least 'on the table' for the show on November 25.

In a conflicting report, the Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer claimed that the plan was not for Raw and SmackDown to collide in the two-ringed cage match.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer said:

"On last night's [Wrestling Observer Radio] show based on an angle, we talked about the possibility of a Raw versus Smackdown WarGames match at Survivor Series. We are told that right now the WarGames match is not planned as a Raw vs. SmackDown match."
