WARGAMES Returning At WWE Survivor Series

WWE Survivor Series 2023 will play host to WARGAMES

With Autumn well and truly upon us, wrestling fans are looking ahead to the final major WWE ‘premium live event’ of the year, with Survivor Series set for November 25.

The 37th annual multi-wrestler night of survival isn’t the only thing returning to WWE screens, as reports suggest that WWE are planning to run WarGames on the show.

The Dusty Rhodes creation had been a staple of NXT for several years before making its main roster bow at the 2022 Survivor Series, and a report from Fightful Select suggests that at the very least a men’s WarGames match is ‘on the table’ for the event at Chicago’s Allstate Arena.

Whilst no plans have yet been confirmed for the show, Fightful’s report suggests that Judgment Day could be involved with the match. It is unknown whether a women’s WarGames match will also come to fruition, with the 2022 Survivor Series hosting both a men’s and a women’s WarGames bout.

The two-ringed cage match was a staple of Jim Crockett Promotions and WCW through the 80s and 90s, in turn influencing the Hell in a Cell and Elimination Chamber in WWE, and also being used by AEW under the name Blood & Guts.
