Revealed: When Adam Copeland Reached Out To AEW

When Adam Copeland contacted AEW revealed

Adam Copeland is the latest big name to make the switch to All Elite Wrestling, with the ‘Rated R Superstar’ making his debut at the end of WrestleDream on October 1 to a thunderous ovation.

Prior to debuting with the organisation, rumours were rife suggesting that the multi-time world champion could become ‘All Elite’ at the expiration of his WWE deal, with his prior deal expiring at the end of September.

During an appearance on Maggie & Perloff, AEW President Tony Khan was asked when negotiations with Copeland began, with Khan revealing the following:

"Not long after AEW Grand Slam, we had Adam Copeland reach out, he was out of contract. He is one of the most popular and one of the most successful wrestlers of all time. To have Adam Copeland in AEW is a huge deal for us," said Khan.

Grand Slam III took place on September 20, 2023 in New York’s Arthur Ashe Stadium. Copeland would go on to make his AEW in-ring debut on the October 10 Title Tuesday special of Dynamite, defeating Luchasaurus in the main event of the show.
