Revealed: Why AEW Collision Aired An Hour Earlier On October 7

AEW Collision started at 7 PM Eastern rather than 8 PM last week, but why?

A report by WrestleZone has confirmed the reason for AEW Collision's earlier timeslot last week, which saw the TNT show air at 7 PM Eastern rather than its usual start time of 8 PM.

Amid speculation that this may have had something to do with WWE's Fastlane premium live event taking place on the same night, WrestleZone's report indicates that it was actually linked to the ongoing MLB postseason. They explain:

"In asking around, sources have informed us that TNT was contractually required to air the MLB Playoff game between Arizona and Los Angeles on the off chance that the game between Philadelphia and Atlanta ran long on TBS. That potential airing was scheduled for 9:20 PM EST. This would have been smack dab in the middle of Collision’s normal timeslot."

Ultimately the change wouldn't have been needed, with the Philadelphia Phillies winning game one of their series against the Atlanta Braves in nine innings, but TNT and TBS couldn't have known this for sure ahead of time.
