Revealed: Why Michael Cole Missed WWE Raw

Reason for Michael Cole's absence from WWE Raw revealed

There was a change to the commentary team for the October 16 edition of Monday Night Raw from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma as Michael Cole was nowhere to be seen during the broadcast.

Cole is the lead announcer for Raw alongside Wade Barrett but the long-time commentator was replaced by Kevin Patrick as the play-by-play man for Monday Night Raw.

PWInsider has reported that Cole was absent from Raw as he requested to have this week off some time ago because of a personal commitment. The week just happened to fall on the season premiere of Raw. Cole is not suffering from an illness or any such ailment.

Kevin Patrick had been scheduled for "many weeks" to replace Cole on Raw and the Vice President of Announcing is scheduled to be back on the red brand from next week.

In addition to his position as the lead announcer on Raw, Cole is also the play-by-play commentator on Friday Night SmackDown alongside Kevin Patrick and Corey Graves. Cole had previously just been an announcer on SmackDown but WWE conducted a commentary team shake-up in August.
