REVEALED: Why The Hardy Boyz Met With WWE Officials

It was reported yesterday by PWInsider that Matt & Jeff Hardy had met with WWE officials in Cleveland, Ohio, which is where tonight's 2024 SummerSlam premium live event is set to take place. It was noted that some content was filmed, but initial details were sparse about the meeting. 

Fightful Select have revealed some more details on what went down between WWE officials and The Hardy Boyz, and why the meeting took place. It has been stated that The Hardy Boyz were already in town for WrestleCon and were invited by WWE to film some interviews and other content for WWE digital. This is supposedly for both active WWE series “as well as the potential of Hardy-specific presentations’. 

When it comes to the possibility of The Hardy Boyz working with WWE, sources claimed that this meeting should not be read into too much. The pair are currently working with TNA without a contract, though Matt Hardy has teased that WWE’s crossover with TNA could see the legends return to WWE at some point down the line. Other sources stated to Fightful that they expect The Hardys to make an appearance in WWE eventually.
