Revealed: Why WWE Scrapped Tiffany Stratton's 'Daddy's Little Rich Girl' Gimmick

Tiffany Stratton reveals she had pitched the character in order to get on NXT TV

Former NXT Women's Champion Tiffany Stratton has revealed why her 'daddy's little rich girl' character was scrapped by WWE.

Speaking with WrestlingNews.co, Stratton said:

"In the beginning, I was kind of like Daddy's little rich girl. I kind of just was like, I want to get on TV. And, you know, this was kind of like, new and different, I guess. So I pitched it. It stuck. And it works for a little bit until they're like, we don't have a daddy for you. So you're not daddy's little rich girl."

Asked whether there were ever any plans to introduce a 'daddy', the 24-year-old added:

"We never got that far. We never really [thought] it out. So that's why I think it got scraped. But eventually, the character my big inspo was Sharpay Evans from High School Musical. I think she's an icon."

As well as performing on NXT television, Stratton has been making appearances on main roster live events of late (losing to new NXT Women's Champion Becky Lynch).

Stratton herself has expressed a desire to be called up to the main roster before WrestleMania 40.
