Rick Boogs Claims His WWE Release Was Due To 'Backstage Political Powerplay'

Rick Boogs has addressed his WWE release.

Recently released former WWE star Rick Boogs has some ideas when it comes to the reason why he was let go.

The 35-year-old was one of many main roster and NXT talents that were released last week following the recent TKO merger between WWE and UFC.

Speaking about the circumstances of his release during a gym tour video blog on his YouTube channel, Boogs said:

"Alright, fellas, we're back, and let me tell you, it's been an interesting time in my life with my job in WWE being terminated due to a backstage political power play — at least that's my opinion of it. But now is not the time to talk about that. I will get into detail about that when the time is right."

Towards the end of the video, the former two-time 24/7 Champion added:

"I'm no longer traveling the world every week…as I mentioned earlier about my job, again, it's not the time, but when I do and can speak freely, it's gonna be freaking juicy, fellas, I'm talking about all the nitty-gritty details. You know what I'm talking about, so stay tuned."

Responding to a comment on the video, Boogs wrote "I can say with 100% certainty, the removal of Vince killed my career" (in reference to Vince McMahon's abrupt retirement in July 2022).

A former amateur wrestling standout, Boogs signed a WWE developmental deal in 2017 and made his main roster debut in 2021.
