The Revival "4-6 Weeks" Away From WWE Return
Scott Dawson on the mend...
Dec 9, 2017
The Revival should be back in a WWE ring in four to six weeks according to a report in
PWInsider.
The two-time NXT Tag Team Champions have been missing from our screens in recent times following an injury to Scott Dawson's bicep at the start of August. The prognosis for the injury was five to six months, which looks like being accurate if PWInsider's report is to be believed. Dash Wilder has made some television appearances in the meantime, losing six straight matches on Main Event during September and October before losing to Dustin Rhodes at the WWE Starrcade house show last month.
The Revival's opening stint on the main roster has been stop-start. After answering The New Day's open challenge and then defeating the record-breaking tag team champions on consecutive episodes of Raw, Wilder's fractured jaw - suffered during an NXT live event - put them on a temporary hiatus.
Wilder returned after eight weeks out, as The Revival were prime suspects in the 'who attacked Enzo Amore' storyline over the summer months. After Big Cass' heel turn, it looked like Dash and Dawson were set for a huge three-way tag team feud with The Hardy Boyz and The Club pair of Gallows and Anderson as they attacked the un-woken Matt and Jeff on the July 10 episode of Raw. However, Dawson's injury ended the storyline abruptly.
There's no doubting Raw's tag team division has been missing The Revival over the past few months, as The Bar and The Shield's feud feels like it's been going on for about seven years now. The match quality between Messrs Rollins, Ambrose, Sheamus and Cesaro has been fantastic, but the never-ending string of matches involving the foursome has made it feel like Raw's tag team ranks is only two teams deep. This obviously hasn't been helped by Jeff Hardy's shoulder injury taking The Hardy Boys out of the mix, but The Revival's return in the coming weeks should be the jolt in the arm a pretty stagnant division needs.
