Rey Mysterio Being Considered For WWE SmackDown Switch As Part Of Roster Refresh

Rey Mysterio could be set to move WWE brands as part of a refresh to the roster on Friday Night SmackDown.

WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select has reported that a number of wrestlers have been discussed as additions to the SmackDown roster, which includes Rey Mysterio and former NXT Women's Champion Jacy Jayne. The roster refresh won't extend to major presentation changes, however, with the SmackDown theme song, set design, and logo set to remain unchanged.

Rey Mysterio has been a member of the Monday Night Raw roster since the 2024 WWE Draft, although the former World Heavyweight Champion has long been associated with SmackDown, having been a part of the SmackDown Six in 2002 with Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit, Edge, Eddie Guerrero, and Chavo Guerrero.

Jacy Jayne had been featured on WWE NXT since she made her debut in the summer of 2021. Jayne looked to have finished up with NXT at night one of NXT Revenge last week after she failed to regain the NXT Women's Title from Lola Vice, with Jayne kissing goodbye to the WWE Performance Center after the match.
