Rey Mysterio Returns On WWE SmackDown

WWE SmackDown in Glendale, Arizona was a big night of the Road To WrestleMania 40, and it also saw the big return of a WWE Hall Of Famer, as Rey Mysterio returned for the first time since November.

Following his Crown Jewel loss to Logan Paul, Mysterio was written off TV after a heel turn and attack from former LWO ally Santos Escobar to undergo knee surgery after suffering from a torn meniscus. Although his return timeline was scheduled for around two months, it has taken Mysterio a little longer to make his comeback. His return was known as impending thanks to a report from Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter a couple of weeks back, but he is now finally back on SmackDown. 

During a street fight between Escobar and Carlito last night, the members of Escobar’s Legado Del Fantasma ambushed Carlito, leaving him outnumbered. Rey Mysterio then made his return, limping out on crutches, but this was all a ruse as he used the crutches to attack the heels. He rushed to the ring, taking them out and helping Carlito on his way to victory.
