Top WWE Star Close To In-Ring Return

There is an update on the return timetable of an injured WWE star

Rey Mysterio has been out of action in WWE since back in November, suffering from a torn meniscus during a match with Logan Paul at the Crown Jewel 2023 premium live event. He was written off of TV following an attack from former LWO ally Santos Escobar, and hasn’t been seen on SmackDown ever since.

His surgery was quickly scheduled and the expectation was that he would be out for 6-8 weeks, which would have had him back in time for the 2024 Royal Rumble event. This didn’t end up happening, and we are now in mid-February and Mysterio still hasn’t returned. In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer provided a new update on Mysterio’s comeback.

It is said that despite being delayed from a January return, Mysterio’s comeback is set to take place in the next few weeks. The feud between Mysterio and Escobar is likely to resume once he comes back to the ring, and with WrestleMania round the corner, a match between the two friends turned enemies may be in the offing. In Mysterio’s absence, the remaining members of the LWO have feuded with Santos Escobar’s new version of Legado Del Fantasma.
